AROS's competition win for a new administrative complex for this newly formed state follows in the footsteps of Chandigarh and Dhaka. The competition brief included masterplanning a new capitol city for 30,000 people together with detailed design of five key government buildings [Legislative Assembly, Secretariat, Law Courts, Police HQ and Raj Bhivan]. AROS led the urban design, supported by Pell Frischmann India on infrastructure and cost planning. The final scheme was woven around a bold axial concept that was routed in local history whilst looking firmly to the future.
Competition winner: Jharkhand Capitol City and administrative complex.
