An innovative brief from the East Midlands Development Agency for a cluster of 60 business incubator units together with conference facilities provoked an ambitious response focused on sustainability. A canopy allows flexible waxed cardboard construction in the sheltered environment beneath. The canopy collects water and solar energy whilst providing a roof garden to link pedestrian routes through the site to the conference hub.
